I had a great time celebrating St. Patrick's Day, hope you did. Didn't do a lot of drinking, I'm keeping it light in that department, but I certainly did a lot of singing and even a bit of the Irish jig!
Kelley's Irish Pub had the wonderful DejaVu band and Vince and Eddie kept us all smilin' and dancin' and eating those delicious corned beef sandwiches. Owner, Gary Kelly, was on hand to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves.
Next, I did a little 'roving' up to Old Dixie to check out the action at McGarveys and the Kilted Mermaid. The highlight there was an authentic Irishman, Rowan the Wanderer. He did it all: guitar, harmonica, bass drum at his right foot and tambourine at his left. And he sang with that great Irish accent! Hope to see him around again soon at one of our local spots.
I wrapped things up at the jam session at the Vero Beach Veterans Club, where Kent Taylor Brown and friends backed me up on "Danny Boy." Somebody had to do that one or it just wouldn't be right.
