Interesting turn of musical events last evening. After enjoying a little of Kent Taylor Brown at the Dockside Grill, (glad I caught that saxophone number where Kent climbs up on the furniture!), some of us decided to check out the piano player, Josh Murray, at Blue Star on the island.
He had just left when we arrived, not feeling well enough to play, but fortunately, Johnny Nick was with us and Johnny never saw a piano he didn't want to connect with. Owner, Kitty Wagoner came to our table and said, "We'd love to have you play," so... we enjoyed an impromptu piano party at the Blue Star on a Monday night.
Singer Tony Schillizzi was also in the group, so the patrons and bar staff had a pleasant surprise when Johnny sat down at the piano and Tony took the guitar off the wall and they proceeded to sing Beatle's songs. Everybody joined in and 'unstumpable' was the word of the evenings as people called out requests.
This is what I love about a town that has so many lively and talented musicians! Thanks guys. Hope you can still talk this morning since you did all that great singing for us without microphones!
