Monday, and a little warmer. These cold 'snaps' make us realize how lucky we are to have mostly warm, sunny winters. The sun comes back just in time.

It seems I missed a great time at the Vero Veterans 'jam' on Sunday. A bit of bronchitis made me stay home, but my man on the beat, Norm Burtch, has reported in.

There was a bigger crowd than usual to help Kent Taylor Brown celebrate his birthday, ("Happy Birthday, Kent,") and some fine musicians on hand to entertain the crowd.

Norm writes: The Vero Beach Veterans Jam Session  was absolutely magnificent! The place ROCKED! With Kent Taylor Brown (playing every instrument it seemed), Mark Lepeska on the drums and Peter George on the bass guitar as the core band, you then had Bongo Don and Fransico adding to the rhythm with bongos, congos, cow bells - you name it. There was also a great sax player and a guest drummer.
Next was Marschall Van Doren, all the way from Palm City,on keyboard plus vocals and then as an added surprise, stepped up with his red trombone! Another special feature was Johnny Nick, keyboard and vocals and then Linda Lee and Fransico in a duet. Things wound up with Fransico on drums with the song, " Wipeout," which 'wowed' the room! All very exciting! Caroline as a guest drummer got a rousing ovation. (To those I missed, my apologies.) Needless to say, the dance floor was a busy place.

And this is all free, folks! Check it out March 3, 10, 17 and 24, 4:30 - 8:30. Vero Beach Vets on 26th Street, just off US1, north of the big S turn.

There are some interesting events right away at the beginning of the week:

Of course, tonight, Kent Taylor Brown at Dockside, bringing us his popular style of favorites, plus a varied assortment of 'guest artists.'

"Low Key" at the Blue Star, two  musicians performing an 'eclectic American, leaning toward country/folk' style.
