Hello sports and music lovers,

I just watched the half-time show and, wow, that Beyonce is a leopard in lace - what energy!

Yesterday I finally met and enjoyed the music of the Mighty Flea Circus at Waldo's on the beach. Loved Crystine Polzin, (talk about energy,) all I could think was "that's one saucy, sassy lady up there", belting out "This Joint is Jumping," a Fats Waller song. I also enjoyed her vocals on something I think was called"Mercy."
She and Ray Noel, lead guitar, were celebrating their 20th anniversary and it was clear they've done a lot of music together. You may have heard of Crystine and Ray's Hair Peace. They'll be at Waldo's, Friday the 8th.

The 'Mighty Fleas' have a youthful sound, they call it Jump Blues/ Swing and Jive/ Rockabilly and it does make you want to jump up and dance. The rest of the band: Tony Valarde on bass; Scott Stieler on drums; and Greg Lee on the hollow body guitar. Crystine picked up an acoustic electric guitar and joined Tony on "Summertime Blues and another memorable moment was Ray and Greg having a 'conversation' with their two guitars doing the talking. Greg said it might have been more of a 'debate,' around a song called "Sexy and 17."
Great afternoon on Waldo's deck looking out over the ocean. A rousing "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" was sounding out behind me as I was leaving.
The band has a gem attached to it - a talented photographer, Sienne Skye. Maybe we'll get some of her Mighty Flea Circus photos up soon.
