Hello everyone,

Not only are we cruising into the end of another week, but the month of February has cruised right by as well.  Get your friends out for some live entertainment so they'll have some good times to remember when they get back home.

Good times were certainly had last evening at the 14th Ave. Steakhouse. Kent Taylor Brown and Jeff Haley were going strong when Marschall Van Doren showed up and took over the keyboard for a while. This allowed Kent to take up guitar and saxophone and then the always lovely Melinda McKee Branand sang "You Belong to Me," and other favorites. Peter Armfield was unable to be there and his bass guitar was certainly missed. Feel better soon, Peter.

I wanted to thank new club owner, Phyllis of McGarvey's Pub for her call this morning, to update her live music schedule. Be sure to check out this new and quite attractive venue up on Old Dixie, near the Fishshack, (old Undertow? for you longtime Verobeachians.) See club locations on toolbar above for address.

A reminder to pass the word that Vero Beach Live is looking for a blog savvy 'side-kick' who could morph into a partner in this enterprise.

Live Music, Wednesday -Info on this blog updated daily, but live music is subject to change. Please call clubs to verify times and talent. Club info is on the tool bar above, "Where Are These Bars & Clubs."

Hello all,

...and a brisk good marnin' to ye! I'm getting into my Irish brogue since that most fun day of the year is rapidly approaching.

There is a St. Patrick's day parade on Saturday the 9th, going down 14th Avenue, starting at 1pm. And afterwards, there's a party at the Elks Lodge (free admission) and --- live music! The Tommy Doyle Irish Band will be featured.

The good acoustics and vast dance floor at YNOT Club are definitely a plus and Kent Taylor Brown sounded really good there last night. It's always a pleasure to see Maggie and Howard Daniels out enjoying a dinner and a bit of dancing after.

As planned, I did zip over to the Patio to see how things were going for Bobby Gangloff and Neal McHugh of the "RiverRats" band. Ran into some old friends there and made some new ones. I caught the last few songs and the RiverRats sounded great and seemed at home in that 'olde bar' atmosphere.

Live Music, Tuesday -Info on this blog updated daily, but live music is subject to change. Please call clubs to verify times and talent. Club info is on the tool bar above, "Where Are These Bars & Clubs."

Hello all,
I hope this blog is helpful to you and that you will continue to use it to plan your 'live music' and dancing week.
I have some creative ideas about making the blog so much more interesting and helpful - but for those ideas to materialize, I need some help.

I'm looking for someone who 1) loves music and 2) is computer savvy and who would join me in creating the best site possible to serve Vero Beach residents. I'm not seeking a professional web designer, I'm looking for someone with a bit of entrepreneurial spirit who might want to help create an interesting position for themselves, learning as we go.

Write me at verobeachlive@gmail.com (or misspatzz@aol.com) if you have anyone you want me to contact or if you want to 'coffee' someplace, and I'll explain my vision.

I was totally out of the music loop on Monday, so have no idea what transpired at Dockside or Blue Star or any other venue. If you have music news, tell me about it.

Meanwhile, I'm gearing up to enjoy a few hours of dancing and enjoying Kent Taylor Brown at YNOT and meeting up with music buddies I haven't seen in a few days.

Of course, if Karaoke is what you yearn to do, you'll love Wanda's wonderful work at Kelley's Irish pub. She makes it easy to get up and do your thing and everyone there is supportive and just like to have fun.

The RiverRats might still be doing their thing at the Patio a little later than 9, might be something to check out when Kent wraps up his gig. I've been wanting to hear them.

                             ................
Whether it's "Monday, Monday, so good to me" or "Blue Monday," be sure to plan your music 'time outs' for the week. I believe that getting out and moving to the music, sensing the vibes from the instruments, seeing other smiling people - all that keeps us much more alive than simply staying home and living life as a spectator.
Most  events are early enough, 6 to 9, and clubs so close-in in Vero that you can be out and about for a couple of hours and still get a good night's rest.

Saturday - Info on this blog updated daily, but live music is subject to change. Please call clubs to verify times and talent. Club info is on the tool bar above, "Where Are These Bars & Clubs."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gorgeous Saturday in Vero Beach! All glass doors open onto the patio. This is what I live for all summer. Hope you're enjoying it to.

Friday was so busy around town. I enjoyed a little tour around 'Original Town' (or our old downtown), checking out new clubs that offer music. Saw 'Voodoo' band members setting up for the outdoor concert. Must have been a grand old time, somebody should write and tell me about it.

I had a good time with DejaVu at Kelly's Irish Pub, saw old friends and sang a few tunes. Then I met a friend at the Patio and noticed that it was 10:30 or 11:00 and the two guy band, "Matt and Bruce" were still going strong on the outdoor patio. Late-nighters were in a semi-circle enjoying a nightcap and some very cool sounding music.

Happy Friday everyone. It's happy 'cause Friday has some great live music around town.

To name a few that you'll see, "same time, same place" every Friday,  we have the fantabulous "Reckoning" at the steakhouse;  the always entertaining Johnny Nick at DiMare; and of course, the wildly popular duo that rocks Kelly's Irish Pub every Friday, DejaVu
Over on the island, Curtis Hill at the Cobalt and don't forget the "Top Hats" at CJ Cannon's, also at those venues every Friday.

Havana Nights has live music in the piano bar every night, starting about 6. For now, call for more info.

Last nights "Beatle Guys" got everybody in a nostalgic mood, especially when Johnny Nick took off his hat and showed us how he was the spitting image of and often mistaken for, the late John Lennon, (with a LOT less hair!) however.

The 'Guys,' Johnny, Tony Schillizzi and Tony Valarde, were joined by, yes... Kent Taylor Brown, keyboard, guitar and vocals, who knows a lot about delivering old favorites. The crowd at the American Bar and Grill loved this enhanced show.

Good morning all,

I hear the birds singing, but not a lot of sun so far. Predictions are for sun and much warmer temperatures coming soon! Which is good because my 'fun fashion moment' with sweaters and jackets has come and gone.

Once again, the 14th Ave. Steakhouse was the 'place to be' on Wednesday evening. The highlight was an amazing "They're Coming To America" by Kent Taylor Brown! He was out front and powerful with guitar and voice and everyone in the place felt his enthusiasm. A truly uplifting moment.

It's always good to see so many people dancing, especially Alberta and Warren, a lovely couple who have followed Kent for years. Of course, Cathy Anderson and Norm Burtch were out there showing us all how it's done.

On with the rest of the week in music.

Don't forget those 'Beatle Guys' if you need your Beatles fix; they'll be doing them all tonight at 6. And those guys can sing!
