Happy 'new week' to you live music lovers,

Saturday's music adventure turned out even better than I had hoped. I arrived at the American Bar and Grill at Vista Royale at about 7 pm to hear Tony and Holly sing their beautiful songs. A pleasant surprise at a table for four was a friend, Pat Barrow, her husband Bill and two friends.

Pat told me that she had been looking for somewhere to take everyone to hear music and so of course - she consulted the 'Vero Beach Live' blog.
Tony and Holly

Tony and Holly sounded interesting so they decided to come hear them - and they loved it. Pat wrote this:

Vero Beach is considered Florida's "Best Kept Secret." Well, this Saturday night, we discovered another fabulous secret !  "TONY AND HOLLY,"a musical singing male-female duo who have been delighting the AMERICAN BAR AND GRILLE at Vista Royale on US#1 in Vero Beach for the past season.
They are superb and engaging vocalists, conveyors of the 50's through the present, including show-tunes, delighting audiences with renditions with shared enthusiasm and joy. They have excellent vocal range.
We might add that we and our group were happily enthralled for hours. They are both entertaining, talented and terrific! Indeed, the best we have heard in Vero Beach!
                                                                                                                      Pat and Bill Borrow
                                                                                                                      Vero Beach

Wow! That is a great review. Thank you, Pat for sending it to me. And I thoroughly agree. The next time you see a listing for this duo, be sure to go check them out.

Some people think that the American Bar and Grill are difficult to find, but it's very simple.
Cindy
Turn into the complex off of U.S.1 at Vista Royale, drive straight back and you will see a sign directing you to the parking for the restaurant, right near the golf pro-shop. Piece of cake.
Cindy, manager of the American Bar and Grill, will look forward to welcoming you.

                               On the road again
I stayed to hear as many songs as I could, but also wanted to see what the scene at Shuckdaddy's on 14th Ave. was like with local band, In The Pocket there for the first time.

When I arrived the place was packed! Everybody, almost, was there, including some friends from the beach and from other clubs around town.
Sterling, Lisa, Deidre and David
as well as some charming 'photo bombers' in the back!
Karen, Ruth, Tommy and John

And there was such a warm atmosphere. Somebody said, "This reminds me of the old Menu," which was a great music venue where Will's 55 is now. Before my time, I regret to say.

Something people appreciate about Shuckdaddy's is the large dance floor. And it was always full.

And there's a serious stage for the musicians

Kent Taylor Brown,(keyboard/guitar) Rick Collins (drums) and John Marzlak (bass)
The music of In The Pocket was wonderful. I never realize how much I miss drummer Rick Collins' singing until I hear him again! He did all the favorites that he does so well including Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon and "Faithfully" by Journey.
I also enjoyed Kent Taylor Brown's vocals on "Sunday Afternoon," as well as many other tunes.

Shuckdaddy's has scored two hits this weekend and I hope we'll hear Stoney and the House Rockers and In The Pocket playing again there soon.
