Well...Monday music turned out to be a little less than I had hoped for. I want to apologize to any live music fans who came out to hear Kent Taylor Brown at Dockside Grill and discovered - no music!
I suddenly remembered that he had sent a notice that he would not be appearing this Monday and I had forgotten to note it on the blog. Oooooh, I hate when that happens! I will do better in the future to remember to post cancellations, I want the blog to be as accurate as possible.
But all was not lost as my friends, Tommy and Ham, seemed to be enjoying the delicious $10 steak dinner Dockside offers every Monday after 4!
There was a charming young guitar player/singer outside at Dockside so I enjoyed some of his songs for a while. His name is Donnie I believe, and hope he lets us know where he will be playing in the future.
The night was young, so I thought, "A little run over to Blue Star Wine Bar could be interesting, (I'd posted a musician named Harvey Z playing there)," so I made the lovely drive over the river. And there I saw a note on the door - "Closed Monday, back Tuesday." Hmmmm...my Monday night music hunt was not working out at all. So, only one thing left to do since I was on the island anyway - I headed for Havana Nights.
And there was music! Neal McHugh was entertaining the small group of people there, singing some 'James Taylor' and playing guitar. I ran into the always charming and amusing Pat, who makes party art out of balloons, there with her son who was visiting from Jacksonville, and was introduced to Betty, who works days at Bobby's. Overall a nice 'save' for the evening.
