It was Stoney and the House Rockers night

Hello live music fans,

Off to a good start this morning listening to the sounds of Stoney and the House Rockers, on their new CD "Showtime." The first tune, "Down On the Bayou" stirs it up right away and I find myself dancing around the kitchen.

These guys (and Stoney's wife, Elena, who also plays the harmonica) gave us a great show last night at Shuckdaddy's on 14th. They were going strong when I slid into a booth at about 10 pm, but  it was almost impossible to sit still when this band was rockin' the blues.

This is a 'big' sound: big blusey voices, absolutely fabulous harmonica (Stoney has won championships), and I really, really enjoyed Rick Fincke on lead guitar. There was the great bass sound, (I love to watch those fingers dance) of JT Burley and always right there on drums was Mike Dipaolo

>Patio Restaurant, Crooked Creek, 7 - 10 ?

I got some inside info from a musician friend that the Crooked Creek band at the Patio "sounded really good" so hearing them is high on my list for next time.

But my itinerary tonight will be to enjoy the unique singing voices of Tony and Holly at the American Bar and Grill at Vista Royale until 9 pm and then cruise over to Shuckdaddy's to dance to the rockin' and rollin' of the In The Pocket band with Kent Taylor Brown, Rick Collins and company.

But then, plans can change. There's so much to enjoy in Vero these days - what about those  Supercats at the Kilted Mermaid? And Low Key at Blue Star? How to fit it all in is my dilemma.

But for now, Tony and Holly and then Kent and Rick are still highest on my Saturday night list.

Sunday 4/14

>Kilted Mermaid - Thomas Wesley Bowman, 8:30 - 11:30
> Vero Beach Moose Lodge  - Jam Session with Tightrope Band, 5 - 9

Mark Farner, keyboard player with Tightrope sent this:
"Don't forget every Sunday at the Vero Moose from 5 until 9 we host a great jam session and all musicians, singers etc are always invited. Food,  alcohol, and ice cold drafts are available. It's always a success and a lot of fun for all! Thanks!!  Mark " (This is a smoking establishment).
