Hello all,

It was certainly a pleasant Friday evening, 'roving' around Vero, checking out a bit of the music scene.

First stop - The Elks Club where I heard a few tunes by Tony and Holly. These two were in rare form, bantering back and forth before, during, and after the song. Especially enjoyed dancing to their disco number, "September," and as usual their show tunes were a big hit. Holly was beautiful as ever in her one shoulder floral top.

Then, out the door, up a few streets and over to the Kilted Mermaid to finally hear Simone and the Supercats

I liked the abrupt change in style of music - the Supercats were doing only their original tunes. It was kind of modern, with interesting lyrics, and Simone had a pleasing, relaxed style.

On the song, "Turning," Bryan and Simone's voices blended wonderfully together. Other originals were "Talk To The Rose," and a very upbeat number, "Temporary Heaven."

I wanted to stay and hear more, but I had to check in with some friends at Kellys so off I went. I'll definately want to hear more of this trio, especially to see how they sound doing some more familiar songs as well as their originals.

Finally I popped into Kelley's Irish Pub and into the welcoming embrace of some really nice people, Helen Norwood being only one of them. Bob Deninger was there with a friend, Carol, and it was nice to see Frank Gavin's smiling face. Always nice to see my buddy, Ron Bellini also.

But two people were glaringly absent - Vince Caporale and Eddie D'Angelo of Deja Vu! Normally, Deja Vu plays Kelley's every Friday, but Kent Taylor Brown had been called in to replace them for the evening. Seems there was a motor vehicle incident and thankfully, Vince was left with only minor injuries and will be there next Friday.

Never a dull moment in Vero Beach music land (despite what some people think!) :>)

One evening, we may see Kent playing his sax on the pony!
