Great Start

Hello everybody,

So far so good for the Independence Day weekend. Lots of sun for outdoor activities.

The popular band, Wiley Nash, is entertaining at the Music Fest in Humiston Park tonight. Gary wrote:

HOPE TO SEE ALL OF OUR FANS, THE WILEY NASH RAMBLERS, AT THE SUNSET MUSIC FEST AT HUMISTON PARK IN VERO BEACH TONITE FROM 6:30-9:30...THANX AGAIN FOR YOUR GREAT SUPPORT!!
LILI...DAVE...GARY...BIG FRANK

Even if you aren't yet a 'Rambler' it's certain you will enjoy this family focused evening.

Friday was great for what I love to do - 'rovin' and seeing what is going on out there. Started out at the 14th Ave. Steakhouse where the 'Reckoning' band was making some wonderful music for the listeners and dancers there. Saw some familiar faces and said my 'hellos' before making a stop at the Quilted Giraffe to see what owner, Patrick, has planned for us in the coming weeks. The music scene is really opening up there. He has Julie Lendon Stone on schedule tonight, 7 to 10.  I've heard good things about her singing talent.

Then it was over to a favorite venue on the island, Blue Star Wine Bar! I'd been posting that the "Jacks" band would be there and I was eager to hear them again. I really like their sound. Singer  and lead guitar, Craig Bowers, has a quality of voice that I especially like. Seems he played and sang as part of the house band of Margarita Ville!
They did songs like, "Sittin' of the Dock of the Bay; Moondance, Dirty Lowdown and Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone." They opened that set with "Ricky Don't Lose This Number" which gives you an idea of the variety of tunes
they play.

A new favorite around town, Ricardo Kemp, fit in nicely with his percussion instruments and added some flair to the evening's entertainment.
Percussionist, Ricardo Kemp was a spicy addition to a great band sound.

Kevin Emmert, drummer with the 'Jacks' band
Drummer, Kevin Emmert sounded good and was feeling good while enjoying the moment at the Blue Star Wine Bar! Nice to see you again, Kevin.

Always smiling and so attractive behind the bar was Danielle, busy serving the happy Friday night crowd. Eric was constantly cruising through, keeping those at the tables satisfied with food and drink.

These patrons like the music too!

There were even a couple of local singing celebrities present.

Lovely Holly Hewitt and her singing partner, Tony Schillizzi enjoying a night out, relaxing before their Saturday night 'gig.'
On the way out, I ran right into owner, Kitty Wagner so I got a chance to tell her how much I enjoyed the 'Jacks' band.

But wait! That's not all. We stopped at Kelley's Irish Pub to see what 'Deja Vu' had going on. As always Vince Caporale and Eddie D'Angelo were busy behind the keyboard and drums, and the usual suspects were there; Karen Walter and John Power, Tommy and Ruth Allridge, Frank Gavin and Geri - to name but a few. Very pleasant way to end the evening.
