Tues 9/24, Wed 9/25 and Thurs 9/26

                                            

Hello live music' fans of three of the 'treasures' - Vero, Ft.Pierce and Sebastian, 

As I write, Monday evening, it's pouring outside so - might not make it to Dockside Grill this evening. 
Drats! I always enjoy hearing Kent Taylor Brown play the piano and sing and who knows - he may even have his sax back from the repair shop! 

Well, I DID make it over to hear Kent for an hour and as always it was worth the trip. No sax - but good people hang out at the Dockside Grill on Monday evenings and the music was just what I needed. 

As promised, I want to share with you the Sunday afternoon at the Veterans Club in celebration of the life of Annie's late husband, Ron Morgan.

First of all, I should have taken pictures of the food, especially the dessert table. The club supplied the delicious chicken and everyone brought a dish so there was plenty. 

I did take a couple of photos of the band, The Groovin' Groundhogs, who played gratis and did a wonderful job. This amusing and talented duo has been getting better and better - they are serious about their job and it shows.

Annie sang and as always, I couldn't help but be amazed at that strong, clear voice coming out of that small stature of a person! She is as beautiful as a china doll - but what a powerhouse! 

And everybody danced! They loved dancing to the Groundhogs and they loved dancing to Annie's songs because there is so much energy coming from that little lady!

I was not fortunate to know Ron well, but I could see by the collection of photos on display that he was a very special guy, one of those you could depend on and one who cared about people. Especially when he was being the greatest Santa Claus ever! And it was obvious that he was a man who loved his Annie! You can see that in every photo. 

You can imagine how difficult it was for Annie to keep it together while singing some of Ron's favorites. You could see the pain in her face through "After the Lovin'" and she especially struggled to maintain through "Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground." At the end of this song she exclaimed, "I made it!" and she did - but barely - before allowing some tears to flow. 

But she got some help from her friends and family.  Pam was soon up there to sing a couple of songs....

 ....and Wanda congratulated her after she received a lifetime membership to the Veterans Club of Vero Beach.

A wonderful man's life was celebrated at the Veterans Club on Sunday and it was a real pleasure to see Annie, vocalist and over-all charming person, among us once again. Let's hope she comes back soon to entertain us with her voice, her limitless energy and indomitable spirit!
