Hello all,
Whooeee - great Wednesday night dance party at the 14th Avenue Steakhouse. It just keeps on keepin' on!
We had the Retrorockers doing "Nights in White Satin," and Nancy sang a couple of her blues songs. Captain Country is back in town and he did some Johnny Cash as only he can, and his wife, Melinda sang 'Crazy,' which everyone is crazy about. We welcomed Marschall Van Doren back in town to play keyboards for Sally Schillizzi who sang, for one,"Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow."

And of course, Jeff Haley sang a lot of dance tunes and as usual, the dance floor was full to bursting for much of the time.

Thank you, Kent Taylor Brown for your music, (the sax was back!), and for directing this incredible musical evening. See you all next week - and every Wednesday - into perpetuity!
ps. It was sure good to see 'tall' Bob back with us.

Looks like a good music weekend, starting tonight.
The Quilted Giraffe people are back from vacation and re-opening tonight! Starting the music off is the incredible Johnny Nick. This guy can play anything you want on the piano and sing in the most entertaining way. Go enjoy a good dinner and hear him tonight, 6-9, in the front dining area. He's there doing his thing at the Quilted every Thursday.
And also tonight, there's Jazz at the 14th Ave Steakhouse. Enjoy dinner with the music of the Rich Hall Sound featuring Kent Taylor Brown - always a treat.
Or...just take a look through the schedule for something you might enjoy.

This is from Facebook, a tribute by Rhett Palmer:
"I am sorry and sad to announce that Billy Mure is gone.
He had a long ( 97 ) and exciting life in the music world.
He wrote songs with world famous songwriters, taught Paul
Simon guitar, Bob Dylan recorded one of his songs. He loved
people , was kind, and never met a potato he didn't like. Perhaps
he and his friend Chet Atkins will reunite in heavenly
places...Bye for now"
Billy Mure was certainly one of a kind! I remember,
probably a year ago already, seeing him jump out of his
car one night when Kent was playing at Y-Not, pop
into the doorway with his top hat on to see what
was happening and then, with a big smile, zip back to his car and -
poof - he was gone.
We've lost a very special icon - but he had probably about as
good a life as a person could want. Above is Rhett Palmer,
Billy Mure and his wife and singing partner, Debbie.
