Happy weekend everyone, 

 First, the news: we had a grand opening and a birthday party Thursday and Friday. 

The ribbon cutting event was held at the Grille on the Green Restaurant in Vista Royale.  The music was by the Motown Duo of Jensen Beach, everybody loved their sound, and the new deck was used for the first time. We look forward to some out-door music  there this winter.

Another venue for music in Vero Beach! We're looking forward to a great line-up of musicians this season. 

                                  Another birthday party!

It's clear that the 14th Ave. Steakhouse is the place to celebrate your next birthday or as a surprise party for someone you care about. Bring your friends and take advantage of the great music. 

This week, the birthday boy was Harvey Mills and his friend and ours, Gerry, brought in a really delicious cake. The music, as every Friday, was by one of Vero's best groups, Reckoning, with Todd and Pam Morgan and Jeff Haley.

We loved the creative way Reckoning sang 'Happy Birthday,' to the melody of 'Sweet Home Alabama."

Jeff Haley sang a bluesy "Mess of Blues," and Pam got the room going with her signature favorite,"Bobby McGee."

The party then moved over to Kelley's Irish Pub where Deja Vu picked up the musical end of things, backing Harvey as he sang his "St.James Infirmary."

Note: Also wishing Bob Deniger, who underwent open-heart surgery on Thursday, a swift recovery. He is at the Heart Center of Melbourne, and some friends visiting on Sunday will bring us a report. Hope to have him back singing and dancing soon.
