Hello all,

There are a few things to catch up on before the week-end. I'll   finish telling you about music I heard this past weekend and then make a couple of announcements.

I wanted to be sure to acknowledge Rick Collins and Company for entertaining the folks at the Consulate Rehab center during the open house there. Jillian Collins was on keyboards and vocals. I especially liked her"Blue Bayou."

Rick Collins is, of course, Vero's singing drummer and he got some of the ambulatory residents up and dancing to "Sweet Home Alabama."

Guitar player Wesley B. Wright cooled 'em out again with "Under the Boardwalk," as John Marzlak kept it all together on bass.

I think everyone at Consulate Health Care was pleased with the quality entertainment that afternoon.

Look for Rick Collins and Company's schedule on the blog each week. Meanwhile he sent this info:

Friday May 24th, Waldos, Vero Beach 8:00 to 11:00
Saturday, May 25th Igots – Lake Worth 9:00 to 12:00
                                                       Sunday, May 26th Crawdaddy’s N’awlins, Jensen Beach 6:00 to 10:00
                                   Rick Collins, drums, vocals
                                  Jilliann Collins, keys, vocals
Wesley B. Wright, guitar, vocals                               Booking:954-829-4900
                                  John Marzlak, bass, vocals
           --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But that's not all, folks. Last Friday, I treated myself to a fine evening at DiMare Restaurant on the island, listening to the unique talent of Johnny Nick. You really have to go hear this guy do all the different songs - from Broadway to Elvis to Al Jolson - it is really top-notch entertainment. Never a dull moment and go ahead.... I challenge you to stump him.
He knows them all and has a wonderful singing voice to pull them off - not to mention his excellent piano playing. Johnny Nick, every Friday evening at DiMare.

Tonight, after a rousing evening at the 14th Ave. Steakhouse, where Kent Taylor Brown and Jeff Haley entertained at the "Wednesday night dance party," I ventured over to the Kilted Mermaid to see some friends perform at the open mic that happens every Wednesday there.

A bunch of people showed up from the American Bar and Grill to hear one of their favorite musicians, Tony, who was there to accompany Sally as she sang some Loggins and Messina and John Denver songs in a strong, clear voice.  You could tell it wasn't her first time behind a mic!

Sally Schillizzi at the Kilted Mermaid

Tony and Sally do their stuff at the open mic
And speaking of the American Bar and Grill. We'll probably hear more of Sally's songs at the 'Farewell Music Fest' on Saturday, May 25th, starting at 3 pm.

The "Farewell Music Fest" is happening because Saturday will be the last chance to hear music at the Grill because it is unfortunately closing it's doors. The musicians who have enjoyed playing and singing there want to offer Cindy and all of her friends and patrons a 'bash' of non-stop music from 3 pm on....! So be sure to come, have food and drink and listen (and/or dance) to some great music.

Ok, that about catches me up. Here's the schedule through the weekend.
