Gorgeous morning so far. These are the days we will think of when it's hotter'n blazes out there, so enjoy.

Well, finally I did a little new music 'roving' last night since I had a designated driver. Started out at the Wednesday night dance party at 14th Ave. Steakhouse, with Kent Taylor Brown and Jeff Haley entertaining. Good to see everyone there and get in a little dancing before heading over to the island.
Non-stop music and dancing at the 14th Avenue Steakhouse

Wiley Nash Band was at the Blue Star for "Wiley Wednesday." They do a deep stirring blues sound that I really like and their female singer, Lil, is wonderful. I especially liked "Love Me Like a Man."

The Wiley Nash Band at Blue Star Wine Bar on 'Wiley Wednesday'.
The bass player announced they were gonna take us to the bayou and they did just that with "Born on a Bayou."
Singer, Lil,
'miss blues herself'
Wiley Nash guitar player - yes!

I neglected to get all the names, (I'll get the drummer and bass player and the rest next time) but the guitar player is a real treat to hear.
Don't miss Wiley Nash Band next time you see them listed on the blog or elsewhere. If you like the blues, you'll love this band.

This charming person likes the blues though she obviously doens't have the blues. She's Julie and says she uses   verobeachlive.blogspot.com to get her friends out and on the road to some great live music. Thank you, Julie.

On the way out of the Blue Star and on to Waldo's, I ran into some old friends from Kelley's and DiMare.

The lovely Pam and good friend, Ernie

Linda Bolton, always a lovely smile!

At Waldo's, I finally caught the act of Ben Prestage. He is indeed a one-man band, and when I arrived he was playing the slide guitar before moving on to the violin. I'd describe his music as cajun and bluegrass mountain. He is quite a talent.

It takes a lot of equipment to be a one man band with a big sound!

A few of Ben Prestage's instruments, ready for action.

My 'cher ami' wanted to check out the open mic set-up at Kilted Mermaid, so we made our way west to Old Dixie. There was a familiar face, Paul, (aka Rowan the Wanderer that I featured on St. Patty's day)
Rowan the Wanderer, (Paul) at Kilted Mermaid open mic
He was up playing  guitar and harmonica and singing on the small stage.  To get some precious stage time, people should bring their guitars, keyboards, etc. to the open mic night that happens every Wednesday at the Kilted Mermaid. Paul facilitates and will set you up.

Tonight, Thursday, don't forget. If you like the Beatles, the 'Beatle Guys' will be singing them all at the American Bar and Grill at Vista Royale.
